Bought this same drill a couple of years ago and it came with a 3.5 battery. Same drill just bought and now comes with less powerful battery and higher price! Despite that fact it is a good drill.

This is my second panasonic ey6432.The first one is roughly 10 years old,made in mexico.It fell from my 8 foot ladder one to many times but it still works fine,but I cant afford to be with out one so i got another one,now made in china.Im hoping the quality did not go east to.I work in a heavy industrial atmosphere every day and by far this is a industrial tool.Cant say enough good about the first one,but time will tell about the china made one.They seem to look identical.Now about batteries.Every body can keep there lithium ion and ni cad batteries.These nickle metal hydride batts are the only way to go 3.3 3.5 amp hours are great for me,they last for hundreds of screws.The old batts are getting week now but they are 10 years old.Like I said time will tell about MADE IN CHINA.

I am writing to let you know that this product, and especially the battery, takes a real beating and keeps working just fine. I have the LAST model of this same drill. It is around 9 years old and I do not foresee replacing it (I am a homeowner who does a lot of work around the house - not a daily pro). I have dropped it from the top of my 7 foot ladder many times. Just keeps going. Never even a chip in the plastic, just a few little scratches. I have carved a lot of plastic off of the chuck when screwing in tight corner angles, no problem. I have built four decks with this, and the extra battery means I never run out of juice. The recharge takes less time than the discharge while working. I take it on the road with just one charged battery for small jobs, very convenient. The only time I bring out my corded drill is for drilling through concrete.

After all this use, the only things that have changed are: 1) batteries need recharging a little bit sooner - still not enough to slow down the job; and 2) the electronic brake doesn't function most of the time, but I don't miss it. The chuck comes to a stop quickly, but not instantaneously like when it was new.

Honestly, if all products were made this well there would be a lot less junk in landfills. You get what you pay for.

And for the sake of complete honesty, the only annoyance with the drill is that the reversing button is located just a little too close to where your trigger finger has to grip, occasionally pushing the button between forward and reverse, which locks the drill. A minor problem and one which you may never experience (fat fingers).
